On September 1, 1999, the first BMW X5 rolled off the assembly line. To celebrate the vehicle that would become one of its most important, the automaker has put together a 25th anniversary edition model just for Canadians.
The 2025 BMW X5 Edition 25 Jahre will be based on the xDrive40 trim and will come with a variety of unique design cues, in addition to the xOffroad Package. Available in just two colours, the model can be painted Oxford Green II Metallic or Le Mans Blue Metallic, both of which were also available on the original X5, a quarter-century ago. Regardless of colour, the package includes black exterior accents, which are normally reserved for vehicles equipped with the M Sport or M Sport Pro packages.
In another nod to the original model, the Edition 25 Jahre comes with 21-inch Y-spoke wheels that are finished in Orbit Grey. These pay homage to the 18-inch Y Spoke Style 131 wheels that were available in 1999.
Examples finished in blue are exclusively paired with a Silverstone Sensafin interior and Poplar Grain Anthracite Brown open-pore trim, while those finished in green come with a Coffee Sensafin interior and Fineline Stripe Brown High-Gloss trim.
In addition, the model is equipped with a Harman-Kardon surround sound system, heated front and rear seats, heated armrests, a heated steering wheel, remote engine start, sunshades, a trailer hitch, and Parking Assistance Professional.
Finally, all examples will be equipped as standard with the BMW xOffroad package, which allows drivers to select from a variety of driving modes (xSnow, xSand, xGravel, and xRocks). The system takes advantage of the two-axle air suspension that can raise or lower the vehicle’s ride height for better ground clearance.
BMW plans to produce just 250 examples of the 2025 X5 Edition 25 Jahre, which will reach dealer showrooms in the final quarter of 2024. Prices for the model start at $102,500.
